Bed Wetting No More - Kids Mind Body Health Audio

"Kids simply don't want to wet the bed, but they don't know how to stop. While this is problematic for parents, the child is the one who feels the shame, guilt & low self-esteem. There is often the need to hide & keep secrets. If there is no physical diagnosis, then this issue needs to be addressed in special ways."........Elizabeth Bohorquez, RN, C.Ht

This audio is designed for the child working to recover from problem of bed-wetting. Through specific imagery the child observes the workings of his/her body parts & how to claim control over these, even in the state of sleep. The child learns to communicate with all body parts on subtle levels, thereby being able to receive messages back from those parts & to develop a plan to stop bed-wetting. On the inner movie screen the child can enjoy watching his/her behaviors change & can then enter the "scene" & become a part of the production. The child can observe movies of the future where changed behaviors are in place & old behaviors are a thing of the past, like an old book.

He can see his progress on "the inner time-line" & how early behaviors are way back in the past, making the child feel successful. The audio is interactive thereby allowing the child to work on his/her specific needs with the guidance of the parent. The child learns mindbody communication skills including mental biofeedback, body scanning, thought & emotional management through imagery.

Note: All programs produced by International Medical & Health Writers, Ltd. are written & recorded by Elizabeth Bohorquez, RN, C.Ht. Each program has 2 or 3 separate original Interactive Self-Hypnosis Sessions, each with it's own induction. All programs include directions for listening & other important information.

Beatrix Potters Complete Tales

In keeping with our children's theme at the moment, I was so inspired recently from watching the movie 'Miss Potter' that I couldn't resist telling you all about 'The Complete Tales of Beatrix Potter' audiobook currently available.

Beatrix Potter has such a delicate assortment of childrens books, so many well known books that children of all ages have always cherished them. And now you can listen to eighteen of these great stories with your own children in audiobook format.

"Nadia May's dramatization is very good. Peter Rabbit is young and reckless, Squirrel Nutkin as rude as can be, the cats sound dangerous, and the mice in "The Tailor of Gloucester"well, they sound just like the most sociable mice I know."AudioFile

This collection of eighteen of Beatrix Potter's charming stories about Peter Rabbit, Tom Kitten, Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs. Tittlemouse, and the others have enchanted children for over a hundred years and will surely do so well into the future. Beatrix Potter's tales were often connected with real places, people, or animals, so each story also includes a brief introductory note about its history.

Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) born in Kensington Square, London, England, was raised by governesses and nurses, with little interaction with her parents. Alone in the third floor nursery, she spent her time studying and sketching the small animals that were her closest companions. Her brother Bertram was born six years later and for a time they became inseperable companions. In the summers the Potter rented a house in the Scottish highlands and here the children would spend joyous hours exploring the countryside, gathering plants, insects, rocks and fossils.

My Friend Flicka

Every little girls dream is to have a pony, I know it was mine as a young child. And this is one of the great classic childrens books which inspired me along my own horse adventures.

If you know of any children that adore horses and pony stories, then this might just be the perfect gift for you to offer them. They'll love to dive straight into the story of Flicka, it's such a classic tale and is still on my bookshelf to this day.

Plus with it being an audiobook it suits even those children who are not up to reading fully yet.

"A beautiful book... It will pass into that borderland where some of the best-loved books in the English tongue hold their immortality, on the shelf with Treasure Island, and Dumas and Dickens and Muting on the Bounty." --- New York Herald Tribune.

It seems Ken can't do anything right. He loses saddle blankets and breaks reins... but then comes the worst news yet: a report card so bad that he has to repeat a grade. How can you tame the dreamy mind of a boy who stares out of the window instead of taking an exam? Enter Flicka, the chestnut filly with a wild spirit. Over the course of one magical summer, both will learn the meaning of responsibility, courage, and, ultimately, friendship.

Hooked On Thrillers

What is it that makes us want to escape in thrillers - a world of blood, guts, violence, horror and suspense? Maybe it isn’t even an escape at all – in reality stories about terrorism, betrayals, murders, assassinations and torture are shown to us daily by the media. The reality of these news stories often overtakes the imagination of the thriller authors.

If the reality is often worse than the thriller stories why do we still read or listen to them?

Is it because the choices we made in our lives? Luckily these choices have turned out okay most of the time, but some of these choices could have easily ended nasty. We may have had some close encounters of which we later think “that was a stupid thing to do”.

Whatever it is, the wrong choices sure make good thriller stories. They keep us at the edge of our seat for hours.

I asked some of my friends why they are hooked on thrillers. Here are some of their answers.

Thrillers increase my adrenaline level I want to know what happens next, and next, and next, driving the suspense and my heart rate up.

I lose myself in thrillers after I have done some strenuous mental work and after sitting in a comfortable chair listening to an audio thriller I feel refreshed.

It is the complexities to the ideas of the actions and a plot with a dramatic twist in the end.

The dangerous and high-speed actions, the risks, the skills and the successful solving of the problem in the end.

The relationship between the characters and a rapid succession of events that drive up the suspense and my pulse.

It is interesting that since what happens in real life is often worse than the thrillers, we still can’t get enough of the horror and suspense in our lives. We would like to hear from you what gets you hooked on thrillers.

Whatever it is that gets me hooked I’ll never let an opportunity pass to listen to a good audio thriller.
